Historic tax breaks available

Workshops for owners of historic commercial and residential properties are being sponsored by New London Landmarks this month at New London Harbour Towers' conference room.

A discussion of commercial tax credits will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday, May 13, while residential tax credits are on the agenda from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the condominiums at 461 Bank St. in New London.

Judy Carmelich of the Connecticut Historic Preservation will speak on commercial credits, while Mary Dunne, architectural historian for the Connecticut Historic Preservation Office, will discuss residential properties.
