Westwood, Poulter join Travelers field

The Travelers Championship added some star power on Monday with the announcement that six players, including European Ryder Cup stars Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter, will play in the tournament June 20-23 at the TPC River Highlands.

Rickie Fowler, Jason Dufner, 2001 champion Fredrik Jacobson and three-time major winner Padraig Harrington also committed to play on Monday.

"We couldn't be more excited to announce the commitments of such talented players in Rickie, Lee, Ian, Jason, Freddie and Padraig," tournament director Nathan Grube said. "Along with being great golfers, these six individuals are all well known and our fans will be thrilled to see them compete in person. Our competitive field just got a lot stronger with these additions."

The join an already strong field that includes defending champion Marc Leishman, Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan, Keegan Bradley, Justin Rose and Zach Johnson.
