Citizens-Oppenheimer deal wins award

Published May 17. 2013 4:00AM

RBS Citizens' strategic referral agreement with Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. has won a Monarch Innovation Award from Barlow Research Associates.

The agreement was recognized as the Most Innovative Product of 2013.

Under the agreement, local Citizens Bank clients requiring financial advisory and equity capital markets services can be introduced to Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer clients in need of traditional banking products and services, in turn, can be introduced to RBS Citizens.

Barlow Research cited the innovation's "ability to enable the RBS Citizens relationship managers to serve as objective advisers while delivering deep, sector-specific expertise that goes far beyond what comparable banks offer."
