Mystic's Slander does a show in New London

Published June 13. 2013 4:00AM

Mystic rock-pop band Slander, whose music continues to creep into new territories and take root in folks' ears, celebrate the release of a new video, for their song "Device," on Saturday at the Oasis Pub in New London.

The tune is a chiming, hypnotic track with Johnny Marr guitars and a hooky delivery recalling Dale Bozzio from her "Noticeable One" era.

In addition to the video screening, Slander will play a headline set. Brooklyn's spook-twang trio Lodro appears in support, along with New London's Street People and their irresistible Big-Star-beats-up-Badfinger-but-they-end-up-friends sonic ruminations.

Slander, 9 p.m. Saturday, Oasis Pub, 16 Bank St., New London; $8; with Street People and Lodro; (860) 447-3929.
