The State Bond Commission approved Friday more than $7.3 million in improvements for three statewide college-based advanced manufacturing centers, including one at Quinebaug Valley Community College in Danielson.
Facility and equipment upgrades also were approved at Bridgeport's Housatonic and Waterbury's Naugatuck Valley community colleges, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced. The centers opened their doors last fall and recently graduated the first class of students.
The bond funding includes $5 million for Quinebaug Valley Community College to build an advanced manufacturing center in Danielson. In the first year, QVCC used space at nearby Ellis Technical High School to house students.
