Groton Elks lodge bringing back bingo

The official re-introduction of bingo at the Groton Elks Lodge will begin with a ceremony at 5 p.m. Thursday at 700 Shennecossett Road in Groton.

Games will start at 6:30 p.m. Free food and gifts will be given out for all paid attendees. Admission is $2, and a total of 21 games will be played.

The Groton Elks is an educational and patriotic community-minded organization whose donations help physically handicapped children, scouting, athletic teams and veterans' works. The Elks also sponsor a national "Hoop Shoot" free-throw contest involving more than 3 million children, the Elks National Foundation scholarships and various patriotic programs.
