Today is the day to celebrate the independent colonies of these United States and what began at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. It commemorates the day the Declaration of Independence was signed to recognize government by and for the people; the moment the time had come to stand up for freedom, along with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The bravery of Americans who serve in a changing world shows we remain an independent, free people by choice, pursuing promises past and present as the Liberty Bell still rings.
