East Lyme — Korean War veterans are invited to attend “The Forgotten War,” a ceremony sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Veterans’ Affairs to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Korean War cease-fire.
The event will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 26, at Camp Niantic, 38 Smith St., in Niantic. It includes a ceremony to honor the 316 Connecticut men killed in action during the Korean War and a picnic to thank the surviving Connecticut veterans who served during the conflict.
Korean War veterans are invited to attend with one guest free of charge. The cost for others who wish to attend and show their support is $10. Anyone planning to attend must RSVP by July 19.
