Meriden (AP) — A construction worker in Meriden was seriously injured when a concrete retaining wall collapsed and pinned him against a dump truck.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident, which happened at about 3 p.m. Wednesday off Research Parkway.

The worker's name and condition haven't been released. He was brought to MidState Medical Center and later flown to Hartford Hospital.

Authorities say the man was working at the site of a new car and pet wash when a section of the retaining wall fell on him and pinned him against the truck. Other workers were able to free him out and begin CPR.

It's not clear why the wall collapsed.
