Norwich police seize crack, shotgun during drug bust

Norwich - Police seized 58 grams of crack cocaine, a shotgun with ammunition, more than $2,000 in cash and arrested two alleged drug dealers today during a search of a Summit Street apartment.

Police executed a search-and-seizure warrant at 106 Summit St., 2nd floor, where they arrested residents Jerald Pitko, 47, and Jorge Gonzalez, 31.

Pitko was charged with possession and crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a firearm. He was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond and is due to appear Tuesday in Norwich Superior Court. Pitko has several past felony drug possession convictions.

Gonzalez was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
