The UConn men's basketball and football programs will be part of special national television doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 8.
The men's basketball team will open its 2013-14 season against Maryland at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn at 6:30 p.m., and the football team will play Sugar Bowl champion Louisville at Rentschler Field at 8:30 p.m.
Both games will be televised on ESPN2.
The UConn-Maryland game will be the first meeting of the two programs since 2002, when the teams played in the NCAA tournament Sweet 16.
Following the basketball game, UConn plays Louisville in an American Athletic Conference game. It will be the first and only AAC meeting between the two schools because Louisville, which won the final Big East title in 2012, is joining the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2014.
