Dig in at ‘Feast for the Senses’

Published August 20. 2013 4:00AM

Not to be overly gluttonous, but when someone suggests a "feast for the senses," I pretty much throw out the other four senses and concentrate on Taste. As in food. As in a fried chicken buffet or all-you-can-eat sirloin and ribs.

Fortunately, cooler-headed aesthetes are in charge at the Essex Art Association, and their "Feast for the Senses" exhibit - the final show of the season - embraces all sorts of sublime images. The opening reception takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Essex Art Association in Essex. This is an open show with any artist over 18 welcome to exhibit work - as per Ellen Fyfe Fabian's "Cosmos," shown above. Through Sept. 24. Hours 1-5 p.m. Wed. through Mon.; (860) 767-8996, essexartassociation.com.
