Richard "R.B." and Virginia "Ginny" Kent of Groton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on July 6, 1963, at the Groton Heights Baptist Church.

R.B. and Ginny were honored with a surprise chartered brunch sail aboard the Schooner Argia, sailing from Mystic to Fishers Island Sound, arranged by their daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Phil Polakoff, granddaughter, Abby, of White Hall, Md.; and their son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Loretta Kent Jr., grandchildren, Justin, Ashton and Bradley, of Gales Ferry.

On board to help celebrate their special day were family and friends of many years, sharing much love and friendship.
