Pfizer Inc. and former marketing vice president Peter Rost have quietly settled a suit that accused the pharmaceutical giant of peddling drugs off label and sending kickbacks to doctors.
The industry blog Pharmalot said this week that a settlement last month ended the federal case. Terms of the agreement went undisclosed.
Rost had taken his displeasure with Pfizer public by penning a popular book and posting unflattering information about the company on his blog. He even made a brief campaign to win backing as head the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which regulates drug firms.
Rost would not comment to Pharmalot.
