Local employers have been invited to attend an Oct. 3 conference at the Groton Municipal Building to learn about a variety of hiring incentives, tax credits and financing alternatives available to Connecticut businesses.

The conference, from 8 to 10:30 a.m., is the first of three being held statewide. Employers are asked to register by Oct. 1 at www.StepCT.com.

The free conference will include information about the Subsidized Training and Employment Program and Small Business Express Program, recruitment tips, guidelines for State of Connecticut vendors and details about new health care requirements.
