Fantastic forms and more at Six Summit Gallery

Published September 10. 2013 4:00AM

Did you know that I used to sculpt? My first and only creation was Stonehenge, in fact - and I immediately gave up the art form when all the Druids asked, "What IS that? It doesn't look like anything!" Fortunately, a new exhibition called "Figurative Forms and Fantastic Creatures," opening with a reception on Friday in Ivoryton's Six Summit Gallery, is a triumph of the art form. The show features the works of Gina Novendstern and Ailene Fields (whose Frog Prince is shown, here). Their respective artistic and teaching careers are well known internationally, and "Figurative Forms and Fantastic Creatures" will display more than 30 new works. Through Oct. 14. Six Summit St., Ivoryton. Hours 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed., 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Thurs., 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Fri., noon-4 p.m. Sat. and Sun.; (860) 581-8332, sixsummitgallery.com.
