Coast Guard Band to perform jazz concert

New London — Members of the U.S. Coast Guard Band present a concert of Big Band Jazz at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22 in Leamy Concert Hall at the Coast Guard Academy.

The diverse program includes tunes made popular by Count Basie and new compositions and arrangements by the Coast Guard Band’s arranger Sean Nelson and clarinetist Cedric Mayfield.

The concert is free and open to the public. The concert hall, at 15 Mohegan Ave., is handicapped accessible. For more information, visit www.uscg.mil/band or call (860) 701-6826.
