Five people with local ties graduate basic training

Five people with local ties graduated recently from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

They are: Air National Guard Airman Nicholas Green, Air Force Airman Faith R. Frappier, Air Force Airman Kevin D. Gardner, Air National Guard Airman First Class Nathanael J. Maloney and Air Force Airman First Class Ashley N. Manning.

Green, the son of Jennifer Ramsey of Baltic, is a 2012 graduate of Norwich Free Academy. Frappier, the daughter of Christine Bell of Colchester, is a 2012 graduate of Bacon Academy. Gardner, the son of Daniel and Dorothy Gardner of Colchester, is a 2012 graduate of Norwich Technical High School.

Maloney, who earned distinction as an honor graduate, is a 2010 graduate of Ledyard High School. And Manning, the daughter of Jennifer Gonsalves of New London and Shawn Manning of Oakdale, is a 2011 graduate of East Lyme High School.
