If your alt-country/roots pedigree includes a long incubation period as an Austin native, that counts - a lot. If you add some polish through a degree from the New England Conservatory, the recipe for musical greatness seems in place.
These are just a few of the things 22-year-old singer-songwriter Sarah Jarosz has going for her. Her first two albums, "Song Up in Her Head" and "Follow Me Down," scored critical enthusiasm in Rolling Stone, the New York Times, Paste and Mojo - to name a few - and she earned her first songwriting Grammy nomination last year.
Now, readying for the release of her newest album, "Build Me Up From Bones," which is out Sept. 24, Jarosz is fine-tuning the material on tour. She appears tonight in a free show at the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den. Make the effort to see this; you might find yourself at one of the best performances of the year.
