Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors Softball Clinic - Warrior for a Day softball clinic, Saturday, Oct. 12 between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Eastern Softball Field. Open to high school players grades 9-12. Cost: $95, which includes lunch and a tour. The clinic is under the direction of 13th-year Eastern head coach Diana Pepin and assistants Scott Ottochian and former four-time All-America Eastern pitcher Molly Rathbun. Eastern Connecticut State University Baseball Futures Clinic - Fall Futures Clinic, Saturday, Oct. 12 between 1 and 6 p.m. at the Eastern Baseball Stadium. High school players grades 9-12 are eligible to participate. Cost: $125. Clinic is under the direction of first-year head coach Matt LaBranche and his staff and will involve advanced instruction, position play, hitting technique, and instructional games with live at-bats. East Lyme Youth Basketball Registration - Electronic registration is open at www.eastlymeyouthbasketball.org. CT Starters Fall Girls' High School Basketball League - Registration being accepted for the league, to be held at East Catholic in Manchester on Sundays. Ledyard Parks and Recreation Department Golf Lessons - Children's classes (ages 8-up) will be held on Saturdays from 11 a.m.-noon beginning Sept. 14 or on Sundays from 11 a.m.-noon beginning Sept. 15. Classes run for five weeks and cover the basics of golf: grip, stance, backswing, follow-through, sand shots, chipping and putting. Ledyard Parks and Recreation Boot Camp and Fitness Center - Opening the high school fitness center for adults and for weight training for children ages 12-and-up. Adults may also participate in Boot Camp, a high-intensity workout that combines cardio, strength, and core.
