The twice-yearly Brewfest at the Beach extravaganzas are among the most anticipated civic events of the region.
This fall's production, taking place Friday in the Pavilion at New London's Ocean Beach Park, is more spectacular than ever. For one thing - after a short hiatus - chili is back to go along with the hotdogs, and now the sponsoring Rotarians are throwing in brats! This is a perfect culinary trifecta to go along with the beer supply.
Speaking of brews, at great corporate expense, The Day brought in top-line mathematicians to calculate the sheer number and varieties of beers and ciders available for sampling at Brewfest. Fasten your seatbelts!
The calculus dudes got confused, but there are more than 150 national and regional craft brews and major breweries - including seasonals! - on hand. And, for the Vino-Heads amongst us, the 'Fest is for the first time offering a selection of fine wines.
As always, the very fine band Rhythm Method will entertain (request Porcupine Tree!) and, of course, the whole thing benefits New London Rotary Foundation.
Oh, and in case your thirst isn't quenched by it all, remember that the annual Sun BrewFest takes place this weekend at the Mohegan Sun with tasting sessions Friday and Saturday evenings and a BrewBrunch Sunday morning.
