The Last Green Valley is offering a special Walktober hot air balloon rides from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 13.

People are invited to get into the basket of the balloon and float, tethered, above the corn maze at Fort Hill Farms, 260 Quaddick Road, Thompson. Participants will have a special view of the intricate corn field, but they also will enjoy an uncommon view of the expansiveness of The Last Green Valley, a National Heritage Corridor.

The hot air balloon is provided by Remax and operated by Bruce Byberg of Brighter Skies. Staff and volunteers from The Last Green Valley will be on hand to assist people in entering and exiting the balloon. The donation of $10 per person will be used to support the organization’s programs.

After the balloon rides, visitors are invited to tour the farm to see the animals, pick pumpkins, visit the creamery and navigate the corn maze (additional charge).
