The New London Democratic Town Committee slate I voted for this year is a diverse group, representing the city you and I walk around in every day. They represent all voting districts and social distinctions and are generously volunteering their years of professional, public and private sector experience to include hours of service as elected City Council and Board of Education members.

New London residents experience municipal, state and federal cuts and political decisions that decimate services, i.e. elimination of our municipal social services department. Real budget constraints continue to threaten and must be dealt in a timely, principled manner.

These candidates advocate for fiscal frugality without compromise to human services. They know our housing market, are in touch with working conditions, realize the potential of enterprise zones, recognize the spark generated by the arts, value for-profit and non-profit businesses, and celebrate all of the hard-working individuals making our city shine.

They support improving safety services, parking, housing, and schools. They get that city walkability is vital to our growing population reliant on walking, buses, bicycles and motorized chairs; and that education and employment opportunities must raise socioeconomic status for everybody. New London DTC candidates look, live, eat, speak, play in and serve their community.
