In a sampling of popular grocery items, we pick the best out of three. Items are evaluated for their flavor and presentation. Price is not a factor, as they change too frequently during various supermarket sales.
This week: fat-free Greek strawberry yogurt. Why strawberry? Because it's very, very popular in the ever-expanding universe of supermarket yogurt displays. Why fat-free? It is by far much more available than 1% and 2% fat varieties of Greek yogurt at local grocery stores.

1. Stop & Shop brand: Greek yogurt is thick by nature, and Stop & Shop's sticks to that tradition and maintains the tanginess characteristic of many Greek-style yogurts. Still, the overall texture doesn't get past pasty vs the dairy-like creaminess of other Greek yogurts (best exemplified by Fage) - and there's a slight chalky aftertaste. Fruit is gel-like mashed strawberry puree that's flavorful but unappetizing at the same time.
2. Stonyfield Organic: Firm but less so than the Stop & Shop brand. Fruit resembles the real thing and bursts with natural flavor. As flavorful as any strawberry mousse.
3. Chobani: Good texture, possibly the easiest to mix of all three. Fruit looks real, but we could use a little more of it; flavor of the fruit is decent.
Winner: Stonyfield Organic. The authentic strawberry flavor that emerges with each spoonful puts this brand over the edge. Paired with a very nice yogurt base, Stonyfield makes a truly enjoyable, healthy product.
