Marijuana muffins?

If preliminary talks between a Middletown cupcake maker and a Fairfield company planning to enter Connecticut's medical-marijuana fray come to fruition, patients will get more than a sugar high.

NoRA Cupcake Co. confirmed this week to Patch.com that Greenbelt Management, which is hoping to grow marijuana in Middletown, has approached the company about improving patients' experience by placing the drug in brownies, muffins or Rice Krispies Treats. Talks are still preliminary.

"We're just excited to be a part of it," said NoRA's owner Carrie Carella.

Deadline for the state to approve producer and dispensary licenses is Nov. 15.
