My name's Chuck Longton and I'm running for re-election to the Montville Town Council because Montville needs responsive leadership that pays attention to residents, not just special interests.
I've a strong background in engineering and management and know how to get things done. I've chaired the Economic Development Commission, Public Works/Solid Waste Committee and Conservation Commission and been a member of town administration, Board of Assessment Appeals and Zoning Board of Appeals.
I've been a voice for individual residents, addressing things like improper taxation and town road access. I've legislation in committee for property tax relief to low-income elderly and disabled so they won't lose their homes. I've been active with the United Way and Cub Scouts and have helped out with the Montville Youth Football League.
I've worked with dozens of residents on their individual concerns. I'm a veteran and a long-term resident of Montville. My wife and I have lived here nearly 40 years and raised all of our children here. I understand this town, its people and its needs. I'm running with four good Democrats for council; Bill Caron, Laura Tanner, Joe Jaskiewicz and Tim May. I ask for your votes on Nov. 5.
