Mystic Seaport will celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the arrival of the whaling ship Charles W. Morgan at the museum by offering free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.

Visitors will be able to go aboard the Morgan, which is the world's last surviving wooden whaling ship, and is nearing the end of a major restoration project.

The Morgan was towed up the Mystic River to the museum on Nov. 8, 1941.

Charles W. Morgan Day is held in conjunction with Mystic Restaurant Week, in which select local restaurants, including the museum's Latitude 41° Restaurant & Tavern, will offer special one-price $13 lunch and $20.13 dinner menus. The week runs from Nov. 4-10.
