Norwich - Backus Home Health Care, an affiliate of The William W. Backus Hospital, announced Tuesday that it has been named to the Top 100 of the 2013 HomeCare Eilte, a recognition of the top-performing home health agencies in the U.S.

In its eighth year, HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified agencies across the country and highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall, the agency said in a news release. Winners are ranked by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, best practice implementation, patient experience, quality improvement and consistency, and financial performance. Nationwide, 2,496 agencies are considered elite of the 9,969 that had qualifying data.

The award is sponsored by OCS HomeCare by National Research Corporation, provider of home health metrics and analytics, and DecisionHealth, publisher of Home Health Line.
