Public may vote for restaurant awards

The public is invited to cast votes through Friday in five categories in the Connecticut Restaurant Association annual Salute to Excellence award program: Casual Restaurant of the Year; Upscale Restaurant of the Year; Caterer of the Year; Chef of the Year; and Mixologist of the Year,

Following an initial round of 4,000 community votes, Flanders Fish Market & Restaurant, 22 Chesterfield Road, Niantic, has been named a finalist for Connecticut's Casual Restaurant of the year. Flanders Fish, owned by Paul Formica, is celebrating its 30th year.

To vote, go to ww.ctrestaurant.org/awardsdinner2013. Award recipients will be announced Dec. 3 at the CRA Salute to Excellence Awards Dinner at Mohegan Sun Casino.
