Bruce Freundlich, a former Pfizer Inc. vice president, has been named senior vice president of medical affairs for Antares Pharma.
Freundlich was a Pfizer executive in charge of inflammation and musculo-skeletal disease research after the New York-based drug giant bought out his previous employer, Wyeth.
At Wyeth, he was vice president of global medical affairs. After leaving Pfizer in 2010, Freundlich took over as president of New Light Medical Consultants.
An adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania, he also once served as chief of clinical rheumatology at the school and held an executive position at Merck & Co.
