Royal Australian Navy commander to speak at Naval Submarine League Nautilus Chapter

Groton — Cmdr. Glen Miles, of the Royal Australian Navy, will speak at the Naval Submarine League Nautilus Chapter luncheon Friday, Nov. 15.

Miles serves at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, in Newport, R.I. as the operational requirements manager for the Joint Program Office. He is involved in the cooperative development of the MK-48 torpedo and AN/BYG 1 combat system.

The luncheon will be held at the U.S. Submarine Veterans Club, 40 School St., 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. Make checks payable to Nautilus Chapter Naval Submarine League. My Thanksgiving has been completely taken over by the ever-earlier Black Friday sales. My big meal will be looking more like a fast food burger in line outside of Best Buy than the traditional sit-down meals from days of ole.
