Between our region's extremely fertile homegrown music scene and clubs, venues like the Garde and the Katharine Hepburn Center, and of course the onslaught of national artists coming through the casinos, we've been blessed to see some truly amazing musicians.
What would you say, then, if I told you one of the absolute best guitarists you'll ever see and hear will be in New London on Wednesday? It's true. Acoustic guitarist Maneli Jamal, whose utterly unique style blends harmonic runs, percussive elements, finger-plucked glissandos and a gorgeous sense of melody, performs in the Spindrift Guitar Shop as part of their Cole Clark Guitar Workshop.
You don't have to worship at the altars of Tommy Emmanuel or Eric Roche, and it also matters not whether you prefer metal, punk, country-pop, classical or jazz - see Jamal play. He'll stay in your brain - and ears - for a long, long time.
