H.S. football: Valley/OL game will be played today

Valley Regional/Old Lyme will try to complete a perfect season tonight when it visits rival Haddam-Killingworth in a Pequot Football Conference South Division game.

The game, originally scheduled for Wednesday night, was moved up a day due to the threat of inclement weather on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

The Warriors (10-0, 5-0) can win the PFC South outright with a victory over the winless Cougars (0-10, 0-10) and clinch the top seed for the upcoming Class M state playoffs.

Either way, Valley/OL will host a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The Valley-HK game was one seven games moved from Wednesday to today in order to avoid adverse conditions. The others are: Platt Tech at O'Brien Tech, 2 p.m.; New Fairfield at New Milford, 5 p.m.; Newtown at Masuk, 5 p.m.; Pomperaug at Oxford, 5 p.m.; East Hartford at Manchester, 6 p.m.; Middletown at Windsor, 6:30 p.m.

Thanksgiving Day tickets

• Tickets to the Westerly-Stonington Thanksgiving Day football game are on sale at both schools. Pre-sale tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for students and senior citizens. All game day tickets will be $5 for all. Children under 10 will be free in all instances.

• Tickets for the Ledyard-New London Thanksgiving Day football game are on sale at both schools. Tickets can be purchased at Ledyard today from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. in the main office. Tickets can be purchased at Fitch today from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 8-11 a.m. in the main office. Pre-game tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students. All game day tickets will be $5. Kick-off is set for 10 a.m. at Ledyard.

Stores should be able to do what they want. If you don't like it, don't shop there.
