Caldecott Medal winner to visit Old Lyme

The Smith College Club of Southeastern Connecticut presents a visit by Jane Yolen, '62, winner of the 1987 Caldecott Medal for her best-known book, "Owl Moon," and her daughter, Heidi Stemple, on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library, 2 Library Lane, Old Lyme. Yolen has written more than 300 books, which include several children's books. Her book "Dear Mother, Dear Daughter" explores her relationship with Stemple.

This wine-and-cheese event is free and open to the public. Smith alumnae should bring cash or a check for $25 to keep their dues current and to receive the 2014-'15 directory.
