Group aims to help building owners reduce energy usage

Published March 15. 2014 4:00AM

Competitive Resources Inc. is working with owners and managers of multi-family buildings and complexes to lower their energy bills through Energize Connecticut's various energy efficiency programs.

CRI offers energy efficiency services statewide to customers of Connecticut Light and Power Co., The United Illuminating Co., and municipal electric companies. Eligible facilities include apartment complexes, high-rise apartment buildings, group homes, assisted living facilities, condominium complexes and college dormitories. The Energize Connecticut initiative gives owners and managers access to multiple energy efficiency programs.

As part of the initiative, technicians will make energy-saving improvements such as sealing air leaks; installing energy-efficient bulbs and water-saving devices; identifying inefficient appliances; and providing information on utility incentives and tax credits.
