Voices on the Thames in concert

Published April 03. 2014 4:00AM

It's been a really long time since I first heard the Vienna Boys Choir. Jeez, those guys must be in their 50s or even 60s by now!

So much for their youthful, cherubic voices, right? They probably all sound like Johnny Cash by this point.

Fortunately, Voices on the Thames, the New London County's Children's Choir, really are still kids! Their cascading vocals, fresh as dew, are pretty wonderful to hear, and the group performs its spring concert Sunday afternoon at Waterford Congregational United Church of Christ.

Voices on the Thames features eight different singers in varying and impressive harmonic arrangements - all with the eminently capable accompaniment of pianist John Metz. A reception with refreshments follows the performance.

Voices on the Thames, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Waterford Congregational United Church of Christ, 60 Cross Road, Waterford; free; 2ccnl.org.

I'm feeling lucky. I predict both men's and women's national titles.
The men are lucky to have made it this far. I don't know if they can win against Florida again.
No matter how the men do, we can count on the women to bring home a national title.
