Mystic Seaport hosts Pirate Days

Published May 01. 2014 4:00AM
Get a peek at pirates at Mystic Seaport.

Grab an eye patch, a puffy shirt and a parrot and head on over to Mystic Seaport for Pirate Days this weekend.

Because, this year, visitors can get costumed up and take part in a pirate parade.

There's plenty of other pirate-centric entertainment, too, including a mock trial and a sing-along. Folks can pore over treasure-map clues that will lead to hidden buccaneers and treasure chests. They can indulge in games in the Playscape area - walk the plank, for instance, or pin the patch on a pirate.

Oh, and don't forget to rehearse your aaarrrggghhh-iest pirate phrases. Yo ho ho!

Pirate Days, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Mystic Seaport, Route 27; pirate parades 11:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.; seaport admission $24 ages 18-64, $22 ages 65 and up, $15 ages 6-17, $22 college students, free for kids 5 and under and for members; Pirate Days included with admission, but $5 additional per child.
