Ledyard — Voters at a referendum on Tuesday approved the $52.68 million town budget for fiscal 2014-15 recommended by the Town Council.
With less than 20 percent of the town’s approximately 8,000 registered voters casting ballots, the budget was approved 740 to 593.
The budget will result in a 6 percent increase in the tax rate, a rise of 1.75 mills.
