New London — City police continue to seek the gunman in Thursday’s shooting while the victim checked himself out of the hospital over the weekend against medical advice, according to police.

Duwayne Todd, 23, a Maple Street resident, suffered multiple gunshot wounds but managed to avoid a life-threatening injury, police said. The shooting was first reported at 11:27 p.m. Thursday in the area of Alger Street and Riverview Avenue. Todd was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police said the shooting does not appear to be a random act and believe Todd knew the perpetrator, though Todd has not been cooperative with police.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the police department’s detective division at (860) 447-1481. Information can be kept confidential.

Area farmer's markets are starting to open up. Do you shop for seasonal goods locally?
Yes. No farms, no food, right?
No. Supermarket prices fit my budget better.
Sometimes, but I also grow my own veggies.
If I can get to one, I'll try and support it, but I find most markets are only open while I'm at work.
