Stonington - Police have arrested a 39-year-old New London man in connection with last month’s robbery of People’s United Bank in Mystic.

Police charged Jason Piontkoswki of 55 Linden St. on Thursday with first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny. Police said he is accused of the July 18 robbery.

On July 18, police said a man pointed a gun at a teller at 11:24 a.m. and robbed the bank at 12 Roosevelt Ave. He also handed the teller a note demanding money before fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash.

Piontkoswki was arraigned in New London Superior Court. He is being held on a $150,000 bond.

Do you agree with Tony La Russa that baseball players associated with steroid use and bypassed, regardless of their achievements, are deserving of Hall of Fame induction - with an asterisk?
Yes. I believe Bonds, Clemens and McGwire deserve their place in the Hall of Fame.
No. I think it sends a rule-breaking message to current players and Little Leaguers.
Asterisk or no asterisk, I wonder why he waited until he was in the Hall of Fame to make this statement?
According to La Russa, the asterisk would indicate: 'Look, we have some questions.' What?
