The City of New London versus Chief Margaret Ackley saga continues - how sad. Being a longtime admirer of "Peg," I have tried to connect the dots to understand why. She is a fine and honorable person who should not be denied the respect that she truly deserves.

Interestingly enough, I recently received a note from a friend, a former resident who still has close ties to New London, which sheds some light on the subject. It read to "not believe everything you read" and that it's still the "good old boys/New London guys" who won't let up. They've had it in for a woman/any woman/her ever since she got promoted. It's the 21st century; have we come no further?

HBO's "The Leftovers" follows the story of those left behind after 2% of the population disappears in a Rapture-like event. The show is drawing 8 million viewers per telecast. To what do you attribute the appeal?
The premise is a home run. People love to speculate about the Rapture.
Two words: Justin Theroux
It's so heartbreaking, people can't stop watching.
I have no idea. This show is a massive bummer and I have no interest in it.
I wouldn't know because I know better than to watch depressing fare that's just a waste of time.
