Hugh W. Klockars, Sr., of Branford died June 16 at Connecticut Hospice. He was the husband of Marilyn Klockars. Hugh was born in New Haven Feb. 4, 1938, son of the late Bertel B. and Ruth Redman Klockars.
He was a police officer with the Branford Police Department for 38 years prior to retiring. When he retired, he had achieved BPD Patrolman’s Badge #1, which was retired with him.
Besides his wife, Hugh is survived by his children Susan Klockars, Barbara Klockars, Janet Mezzatesta, Hugh Klockars, Jr., Elizabeth Bianca, Traci Lyn Knapp, Richard Guy Rinaldi, and Lynette Wallace; 16 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were private at the convenience of his family. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home of Branford was in charge of arrangements.
