The Morgan golf team competed at the Division IV State Championship at Tallwood Country Club in Hebron on June 3. The Huskies earned 10th place overall with a score of 344 as a team at the meet.
Ryan Powers took home the lowest score for Morgan, shooting an 83 and tying for 25th place. Jason Cohen played to a tie at 31st place with a score of 84. Ethan Tessman came in 42nd place with a tally of 86, while Matthew Zoner tied for 55th place with a stroke total of 91. Andrew Nye came in a tie for 75th with a score of 102.
Chris Nuzzo and Garrett Johnson represented the Morgan boys’ tennis team at the State Open Championship at Wesleyan University in Middletown on June 2. Nuzzo and Johnson competed in the doubles bracket. The duo took a 6-2, 6-0 loss to the eventual 2019 State Open Doubles Champions Tighe Brunetti and Robert Daus of Staples in the quarterfinals.
Girls’ Outdoor Track
Alyssa LeMay was Morgan’s lone representative at the State Open Championship at Willow Brook Park on June 3. LeMay earned 15th place in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet-1.25 inches.
