Guilford High School senior Ben Crair was recently presented with the 2020 John J. Fontana Scholarship from the Connecticut High School Coaches Association. Crair was a member of the boys’ cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track teams during his time as an athlete at the high school. In the fall of 2019, Crair helped the Guilford boys’ cross country team post a record of 9-0 on its way to winning the SCC Hammonasset Division title. He went on to earn All-SCC First Team honors by finishing in fifth place with a time of 17 minutes and 24 seconds at the SCC Championship, helping the Indians come in second place at the meet. After that, Crair ran a time of 17:01 to take ninth place at the Class MM State Championship, where Guilford finished in third place as a squad. Crair will be attending Yale University in the fall.
